Otro Elements Men’s Retreat

A collaboration between us and Otro Elements; our dutch friends in Italy.

We invite you to step out of your comfort zone and into the wild Alps for a male-centred retreat that will change your life.

Every Otro Elements trip brings people into the mountains and lets the power of the wilderness shape their vision for a better life and a better world. The Lakota Amerindian sweat lodge ceremony run by Kristofer Two Feathers plays a big part.

This is a ‘base-camp’ programme in the Italian mountains, based in a rugged and untouched part of the Monte Rosa Massif. You’ll get to explore some remote peaks, sleep under the stars, explore some of your inner world and participate in a pioneering experience that focuses on growing humility and joy.

Tjeerd and Benny are leading this together.

5 days / 4 nights EUR 1,795 (exc. VAT)

A Peruvian Coffee Adventure

A Peruvian Coffee Adventure

As Benny’s brother once said, “your coffee work in Peru is Indiana-Jones-level adventure’. This is, well, true. Every few years we try and make it possible for a small group to come and visit the coffee community of the Chilchos Valley, in Amazonas, Peru. Benny has been working with these farmers for years, with his pal Conrad at Techo Verde Coffee. They grow incredible organic coffee but live in one of the most remote places Benny’s ever been. It’s a magically wild land, the home of the real Paddington Bear (spectacled bears) where you can get lost in the mists of the cloud forest and be enchanted by the song and dance of the extraordinary cock-of-rock. Not to mention the howler monkeys, the clear-water rivers full of trout or the unexplored Inca ruins. It’s extraordinary. If you want to go off the beaten track, this is it.

Benny has put together a 12 day itinerary from Chachapoyas - Leymebamba - The Chilchos Valley. It includes some very demanding trekking both in the mountains and through the rainforest, river crossings and riding the trusty mules. You’ve got to want it, but the rewards are spectacular: a tasting tour of Jenney coffee farm and beatnik distillery; tickling for catfish in the river with Bacner (10 years old and a legendary tickler); getting woken up by passing scarlet macaws; exploring the Inca ruins under the cliffs at Las Hamackas with Ernesto; and, either joining in the community volleyball game with Magaly or the football with her brother Paul… or there’s the local bar run by Magaly’s mum. Also a good option.

This is a genuine once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to truly see where truly ethical and sustainable coffee comes from while tapping into the deepest parts of modern and ancient Andean culture. Plus, even though much of the expedition fee goes to support the community, it’s still way cheaper than the other commercial alternatives.

Exact dates approximate, but it will be around mid-late Oct 2026.

Provisional price: £999 (starting at Chachapoyas, Peru)

A short Basque Country Trail

A short Basque Country Trail

Come for a long weekend and let Benny guide you round his home. The Basque Country is a wild land of sea, sky and rugged mountains, full of the most fascinating people: the Euskaldunak, or Basque speakers. Rooted in mysticism and endurance, these ancient people have managed to preserve their language and culture through all of known European history, from the Romans through till the fall of Francoism in the 1970s. The land speaks, the food speaks, the water speaks, the people speak… claro.

We’ll stay at a beautiful rustic ‘casa rural’ under the watchful eye of Mari, up on Anboto peak. Early mornings start with meditation and cold plunge, days are filled with treks into the wild highlands of the Urkeola Nature Park with accompanying guided reflections, and nights are filled with song, stories and exquisite Basque cuisine from our local chef. You’ll also get the opportunity to do a ‘solo’ - a night out under the sky by yourself.

Get in touch for more details and to book a spot.
